According to the Verge, Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom has also confirmed the app is on the way. "Our ultimate goal is to bring Instagram to everyone who wants to use it," he said. "We're looking forward to watching the Windows Phone community use Instagram to capture and share beautiful moments in the coming weeks."

Nokia has tried its best to fill the Instagram-sized hole in the Windows Phone platform - with alternatives like Oggl from Hipstamatic. Asked about the continued lack of Instagram back in May, Nokia's Jo Harlow told TechCrunch: "Obviously our goal is to brings great apps to the Windows Phone platform. We have a huge amount of respect for Instagram and we continue to work in that direction and in particular with Microsoft, and with apps like Hipstamatic and the ability to share your pictures on Instagram.
