Google honour Doctor Who 50th anniversary with interactive Google doodle game

The searche engine have created their best Google doodle yet which includes an interactive game including all 11 of the Time Lords.

As web users press the play button, they get to see the Doctors dancing above the Google logo and then as the game begins, as the Doctor tries to rescue the letters of the search engine's logo.

The cool game of course features a TARDIS, and players have to use their keyboard arrows or mouse to reach the Google letters on the other side of the level.

Google's latest doodle and game was designed by Matt Cruickshank, a British Doctor Who fan who moved to the Googleplex last year.

"I really wanted to get the feeling across that you could travel to different eras," Cruickshank said. "I definitely didn't want you to just play one level and that is it. I love the idea of the Doctor being able zoom around the universe."

According to reports, the doodle has been in production for four months, and became known as the "Whodle" at Google HQ.

Earlier this year, a petition demanding a Doodle to celebrate the programme's 50th anniversary received more than 4,300 signatures but Google have refused to say whether the petition inspired its Doodle makers.

Doctor Who's 50th anniversary special, 'The Day of the Doctor', airs on Saturday, November 23 at 7.50pm on BBC One. It will also be simulcast worldwide, and screened in cinemas around the globe.
