The Nexus 7 is slightly thinner than the original, includes a quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor, a 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera and 5-megapixel rear camera. It also features near field communication technology, wireless technology and HDMI output.
The tablet will support 4G LTE networks, with the one model working on AT&T, T-Mobile or Verizon. It also runs Android 4.3, the latest version of Google's mobile operating software.
According to Best Buy listings leaked before the Google event, a 16 GB version will sell for $229.99, and a 32 GB version will cost $269.99.
